Danby Meets Inspiring Janis MacKay

Danby brought in a book she wrote earlier this week. The book was inspired by a series of books by Janis MacKay. Danby was over the moon yesterday when she got to meet Janis and give her a copy of her book!

Meeting Mary Queen of Scots!

Today we went to the museum where we met Mary Queen of Scots! We were all part of her royal court, so were given some interesting head pieces to wear. We learned all about her life, how to be a proper member of a royal court, looked at interesting artefacts and even learned a dance from the 1500s.

An amazing author

A huge well done to Danby in p5a for your fantastic book! Danby wrote, illustrated and published this brilliant book at home and brought it in to share with us this week. We all very much enjoyed listening to the story :)

Gladstone's Land Treasure Hunt

Primary 5 took to the nature garden this afternoon to compete a treasure hunt about the artefacts we learned about on our trip to Gladstone's Land. The children worked in groups of three and discussed what they remembered from the trip. A great chance for everyone to share their knowledge and reflect on how much they had learned. Good work everyone!!

Autumn inspired maths

We carried on our work on area this week. Inspired by the signs of Autumn we selected 3 leaves each from the playground and free round them in squared paper to allow us to work out the area.

Sharing success in p5a!

It's been great to hear what everyone has been up to over the October holidays. We have all started back full of enthusiasm.

A big well done to both Lucy B and Sam S who did brilliantly well in a Tennis competition during the holidays.

Sam K also enjoyed some sporting success, coming 9th out of almost 80 people during a cycle cross race. Well done guys!
